WHO ARE WE

The NSW Hire Car Association (HCA) is a recently formed association of hire car operators in NSW.   The Association was created in June 2015.

We are a group of small to medium sized companies along with individual drivers, who have come together and united to form the NSW HCA in order to get a voice in the transport industry.

COMPANY STRUCTURE

The NSW Hire Car Association is set up as a not-for profit Company limited by guarantee (ACN: 605 968 590, ABN: 12 605 968 590).

Limited by guarantee means the liability of the company’s members is limited to the amount the members undertake to contribute to the property of the company in the event the company is wound up.

The NSW HCA is a legal entity separate from its members. The company can hold property and can sue and be sued.

Companies are registered under the Corporations Act 2001 (Corporations Act), which is Commonwealth legislation administered by ASIC. A company’s registration is recognised Australia wide.

OFFICE HOLDERS

Currently appointed office holders:

  • Founder & Director – Simon Kalipciyan
  • Chairman – John Bartolotta
  • Director – Frank Khan
  • Director – Ritta Khoury
  • Director – Geoffrey Sewell

Holding of the above offices is currently voluntary and no payment or compensation is received by any office holder.  While these office holders have invested enormous amounts of time over the past 18 months in order to save our industry this arrangement is not sustainable long term.  It is important to recognize that the NSW HCA will need ongoing member funding to be able to hire personnel to perform these functions in a proper full time capacity (just as the taxi industry does through the taxi council).

FUNDING

The NSW HCA is fully funded by annual membership fees.  Please note, without membership support our industry cannot possibly sustain the extraordinary momentum created by the Founder, Simon Kalipciyan and the current Directors.  There are currently no other funding sources, although we will continue to explore the possibility of sponsorship and suitable government funding.
